A Taste of Paris in the ’60s

Bonjour and Bienvenue Kittens!

This week’s Kitten D’Amour featured artist is Henry Mancini, legendary Hollywood composer. Mr Mancini recorded over 90 albums in his lifetime, and was nominated for no less than 72 Grammy Awards and 18 Oscars.

He worked on numerous Hollywood classics, including Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Oddly enough though, it is his work on ‘The Pink Panther’ for which he is perhaps most widely recognised. The soundtracks to the Pink Panther films featured the infamous ‘Inspector Closseau Theme’ and ‘A Shot in the Dark.’ Both tracks have a very distinctive ’60s Parisian vibe.

Mr Mancini is regarded as creating some of the greatest film scores in cinema history. Click on either of the two links below to sample some of Mr Mancini’s work. You can find the complete soundtrack on our website.
